The Inevitability of Terrorism, the Greed of Capitalism and the Irrelevance of Religion

What is wrong with the world today? I’ll tell you what is wrong:

  1. The greed of capitalism: One of the root causes of terrorism in the world today is the ruthlessness of capitalism as it is being practised in the world today. The main issue for corporates the world over is to maximise profits at any cost. The main ruse of capitalism is to keep on becoming bigger and bigger so that eventually when there is a global meltdown as is presently happening the governments of the respective countries are forced to bail them out with huge infusion of tax payers money. The second issue for corporates the world over is to maximise profits at any cost. The most tragic effect of this is the human cost of downsizing the workforce. In the recession currently going on in the world, the primary aim of every business to reduce loses is to cut jobs. How come nobody thinks that a more equitable solution would be to lower the salaries of the top brass which I am sure would more than cover the salaries of the employees due to be sacked. Businesses have reached the stage today that the material assets if the company are more important than the human assets. What happens when jobs are cut? The remaining employees are loaded with extra work. Eventually both the employed and the jobless are stressed out due to overwork or no pay. However the guys who are the promoters and CEOs of publicly traded companies the world over rarely get affected because the promoters liability is limited to the assets of the company and the CEOs get a handsome severance package never mind if they have made the company totally bankrupt! The joblessness in the developed world now adds to the joblessness in the developing world. Joblessness means no money to live, that is where religion comes in:
  2. The irrelevance of religion: When a person is jobless and consequently hungry in desperation he will resort to any means to survive. This is when the godmen of the major religions of the world come in and brainwash these poor people into believing that religion will solve their problems. The religious leaders of the religions to which they belong, exploit their vulnerability and convince them to do something in the name of their religion so that they can be assured at least of a better life after death (e.g.Heaven, Plenty of Virgins, etc.). They are provided monetary benefits and assured lifetime support for their families. Furthermore, religion was and is meant to help the human individual spiritually and should never enter the material domain. Unfortunately, the world over, religion has entered politics and business. Common sense tells me that, if the gods of the respective religions are as intelligent and powerful and miraculous as they claim him to be, then we do not need to go through religion to gain access to god but can talk to him directly. This is precisely what results in:
  3. The inevitability of Terrorism: Most of the elite and page 3 people are totally ignorant when they state that terrorism has no religion.Just look at history. Most of the major wars and terrorist attacks have been waged in the name of religion. Most religions propagate the view that the present life is only a step to life after death, but none have been able to furnish the incontrovertible proof of life after death nor any guarantee that life after death will be full of everlasting happiness if you follow the tenets of their respective religions in the present life. What makes it even worse today is that politics and religion are being made dependent on each other, for the simple reason that religion constitutes a substantial vote bank. Terrorist go on suicide mission in the mistaken belief that if they die for their respective god then they will have everlasting happiness after death. The suicide bombers should wonder why? the religious leaders who encourage this really believed this then they would have gone on suicide missions themselves. But then the terror recruits are never allowed to think rationally. Throughout history you can see that more people have been killed in the name of religion then for any other causes, because religious leaders have misled their followers in the reward of a fantastic life after death which, to date, has never been proven beyond reasonable doubt.

So, in conclusion, will terrorism ever be eradicated? Certainly not! Why not? Only if:

  1. Capitalism has a more equitable sharing of wages from the top to the bottom rung.
  2. Democracy makes way for appointment of professionals on merit.
  3. Politics is abolished and governance is on the basis of merit.
  4. All religions should tell the real truth that they do not know about about life after death and agree to delete the offending chapters in their books about nonbelievers of their respective religion.
  5. The fact is accepted that terrorism has everything to do with religion.

I do not see the possibility of any of the above happening in remaining part of my lifespan because there is no longer any rational way of doing things. None of the leaders in the religious, corporate and the government today have the stature and ability to stand up to the irrationality of the way the human race? is behaving lest they lose their cosy positions. The only way out is to pray to god directly to make sure that ?change is gonna come!?
