The Notebook (or, Tales From An Alternate Universe):
As the title suggest, these tales come from a strange place, where strange things happen, and things usually end with a humourous resolution. This should also be the first place to start with, as things are reported here more than in any other section in this altogether strange place.

This is the Story of the Week, chosen from the archives with the aim of showcasing something outside of the many on-going storylines and well as something more accessible than a regular post; here, the regular can be rather irregular.

Sometime around 1995, a few Dutch teenagers got it into their heads that they should form a band. They started out by choosing a band name, the somewhat offbeat title ‘Gompie’ proving to be the most popular among them. Now all set and ready with an attention grabbing band name, they saw that the next logical step would be a come up with an attention grabbing song, too.

The Ruminator
This is a section written by my father Benjamin Alvares. One might be tempted to compare The Ruminator to The Terminator, due to the slight resemblence in the names, but really, all resemblences end there. While the Terminator 'terminates', the Ruminator 'ruminates'. While the Terminator speaks in a strange otherworldly accent, the Ruminator speaks in common sense. And while the Terminator looked at the world with a stoic, never-changing expression, the Ruminator looks at the world with equal measures of understanding and revultion.

In a fit of generosity, I had decided to create an area where guests, such as yourself, could contribute.
My generosity was then spat upon and beaten almost to death. How else do you explain the fact that in the three years this place has been around, only three people contributed?

School Talkin'
Formerly known as 'School Bashin'', this section was created simply for me to bitch about my school, while somehow trying to provide some sort of sick entertainment to someone out there. But, as it happens, there are only so many things one can bitch about before one starts to look obsessively fixated on something from one's past, so one name-change operation later, this became "School Talkin'", as it was believed that keeping the topic general would save it from itself. And so there were two stories of epic length, which dealt with the fictional dealings of a school-goer. And much like anything else written my me on this site, this too is simply for humour.

This now defunct section was created to host the writings of one Lucano Alvares, who, incidentally, is the reason this site exists. He had gifted it to me on the day before he left for Mexico, where he stayed for a year before Mexico grew very tired of Lucano. While there, he sent lengthy despatches to us by e-mail, about his experiences and what-not in Mexico. Strangely enough, these despatches came to an abrupt halt when he met the one who would become his wife, with whom he made his grand return to India.
And he never wrote a despatch again.

Guitar Tabs
My official reason for making this section was because of my other passion, the guitar, and my desire to give back to the tabbing community. The real reason, however, was just to get more traffic directed this site's way.
